Athlete Reviews

Let me start off by saying this was my first Triathlon Training Trip. I started working with Jeremy Richardson just a few short months ago when I decided to get serious about my training goals. He quickly got me on a solid plan and saw my fitness level increase much quicker than going it alone. Being new to the sport I never had much contact with any athletes other than the ones I saw at the few races I did last year. I never realized the community that I was missing out on. The group of athletes that I got to know over this weekend was incredibly motivating. There were experience levels from novice all the way up to multiple Ironman Finishers. The beauty of the Jeremy’s workout schedule was that everyone at any level could take advantage of distances and paces that would push them to accomplish. Throughout the weekend we all accomplished personal goals. This hard work and dedication just kept bringing us closer together. I started the weekend meeting six other triathletes and ended the weekend with six close friends. If you have ever wanted to start, change things up, or re-motivate yourself the Top Notch Tri training camp is for you! I promise you will not be disappointed. -Mark Moss

Top Notch Tri Camp review: Anyone who is interested in honing their swim, bike, run skills while building endurance and having an all-around good time should definitely look into a Top Notch Tri Camp weekend. I spent the weekend with coach Jeremy Richardson and 5 other triathletes in Clermont FL. We arrived to our Top Notch accommodations arranged by coach Jeremy on Friday night in time for an easy 5 mile run followed by a some later dinner at a local restaurant. Up early Saturday morning to the smell of coffee brewing and a variety of breakfast options which were included with our weekend, Then it was out to the challenging hills of Clermont for a 47 mile ride followed by a 5 mile run. Athletes of varying abilities were able to customize the distances based on their needs due to the way in which coach arranged the routes. This workout was followed by brunch at Panera and then back to our house for some down time in the screened in pool. Next coach arranged for two physical therapist to come work with us on addressing problem areas using a technique called flossing which gave me relief from some tight calf muscles in a very short time. Next it was back out to Lake Minneola for some open water swimming and drills to work on sighting, drafting and beach entry race starts. Our long training day ended back at our house where coach had prepared a fantastic dinner which we all enjoyed while watching some March Madness. After a deep sleep it was up early again on Sunday for breakfast and a short trip to the 10 mile clay loop. My first time running this well known route and it did not disappoint. Beautiful scenery helped take my mind off some challenging rollers. After everyone finished their runs it was back to Lake Minneola for a 1 mile open water swim to wrap a challenging and rewarding series of workouts. To cap off our weekend we all went to Flapjack Johnny's for some serious grubbing before heading back home. During this weekend some friendships were formed and / or deepened in ways which are likely to impact all our lives. Great time with great people at a more than reasonable cost. Highly recommend.      -Brian Constantine
